Why does the Aerospace Sector need an IOR?
Global deployments of aircraft parts and components can become a complex task from a timing and transport perspective, and there are risks associated with customs and compliance. Most countries worldwide require a local entity to act as the registered importer (known as the Importer of Record or “IOR”). The IOR is an entity approved by that country’s regulations to import aerospace commodities and has all the required import permits, licenses, and applications to ensure timely customs clearance.
