- A comprehensive end-of-life management process to ensure hardware is responsibly managed at the end of its lifespan.

For a global electronic payments company, downtime is a significant sunk cost. When a branch payment system fails, every minute without a replacement becomes detrimental to the enterprise. When an IT replacement is needed, the equipment is already cleared, stored, and ready to go, with no waiting on customs, waiting for stock, or navigating lead times. The solution has been fully implemented across several different lanes, including countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States.

Complete Liability Cover and Inventory Oversight
All IT hardware is covered by comprehensive Liability Cover throughout its journey, from pickup to storage at the warehouse, through to delivery to the enterprise. This covers any breakage or missing items; TecEx will handle it.
TecEx is also currently developing an inventory management system to track item serial numbers across all locations. We ensure ease of inventory management so the client can identify when new stock is needed, or, more rarely, if stock is missing. A recent inventory check in Australia identified a minor discrepancy of just under 1% across the total inventory held in-country, which TecEx flagged, handled the admin, and resolved on the client’s behalf.
End-of-Life Compliance Handled
Our client’s IT hardware generally has a five-year lifespan, and TecEx supports the full end-of-life management. This includes certified destruction and compliance with regulations such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Even if some gear is never deployed, the value lies in having next-generation infrastructure readily available nearby, enabling streamlined replacements with minimal downtime and greater operational continuity.
